First Post

Welcome to the first post of my new blog. I have semi-retired from the music postings as they take up too much time.

I like many others I'm sure discovered early on that there were mindless offensive punks, poser punks, but also some very intelligent guys and gals. These had a great impact on my life and helped mould me into who I am today. For example without the insightful lyrics from these bands I would not have stopped eating meat, may have delved into drug use and might not have been so environmentally conscious. Just look at bands like Spizzoil who sang about global warming in the 70's. Many of use stopped using spray cans with CFCs, like changing to stick deodorants, years before the government placed restrictions on these items. Anyway, I am going to go through the list of punk bands and explain what their names mean if they have any educational value. This will leave out offensive names like "Asshole Parade" and self denigrating titles like "Scum" as these are self explanatory unless they are not in English which I may translate.

When the ozone layer is gone,
